On 20-21 November 2014 the British Academy of Audiology will welcome delegates from all over the UK to its 11th annual conference at the Bournemouth International Centre. Underpinned by the theme, Today’s Vision: Tomorrow’s Reality, the event will equip audiology professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to translate today’s visions for audiology into gold standard clinical practice for the future. There will be a packed conference programme and exhibition running in the Windsor Hall, followed by a 1940s themed Gala Dinner and annual awards ceremony in the Purbeck Hall.
Inspiring, pragmatic presentations have been promised from clinicians and experts in the fields of music, noise-induced hearing loss, dementia and aural rehabilitation for children and adults. The speakers have been carefully chosen for their refreshing approach and ability to offer tangible, simple and proven solutions that delegates can apply immediately in their clinical practice. Practice management will also be covered, along with updates in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, medical audiology, implants, tinnitus and auditory processing disorders.
There’s a special area to cover topics that interest students, and an opportunity for them to submit an abstract and paper to win one of 20 free conference places. The winning entries will feature as posters around the venue.
The event, organised in partnership with H2 Events and Fitwise, will bring 700 delegates and exhibitors to Bournemouth, worth more than £500,000 to the local economy through business tourism.
“This is the BAA’s first major event in Bournemouth,” says Pat Coyne, BH Live’s Director of Venues. “We are delighted that the BAA has chosen to host its flagship event at the Bournemouth International Centre. Delegates can look forward to a packed daytime agenda and exhibition, a memorable dining experience and a warm welcome from our conference and exhibitions team.”
