British Safety Council 2015 International Safety Award Winner

Whittlebury Hall wins International Safety Award for protecting its employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work.

Whittlebury Hall Conference, Training Centre, Hotel and Spa has won an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2014 calendar year.

Now in their 57th year, the International Safety Awards seek to celebrate and promote the success of the winning organisations and their employees in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all. They are open to businesses, public and third sector bodies of all sizes and sectors. The 2015 award winners have demonstrated to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health.

Neal Stone, acting Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated Whittlebury Hall on its success. “On behalf of the Trustees and staff of the British Safety Council we warmly congratulate Whittlebury Hall and its employees on gaining an International Safety Award with pass for 2015. All of those working at Whittlebury Hall have made this award possible, which recognises their commitment to preventing injury and ill health in the workplace.

“It was also apparent that these winning organisations overall recognise the value that proportionate and sensible management of occupational health and safety risks brings to the organisation, its people and society.

“The International Labour Organisation estimates that every year over 2.3 million people globally are senselessly killed due to workplace injury and work-related ill health and an estimated 4% of global GDP is lost due to health and safety failure. Awards have an important role to play in shining a light on those employers who are taking sensible and effective steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare of their workers, celebrating their efforts and encouraging other businesses everywhere.

“The International Safety Awards rightly reflects the importance of aiming for good standards of health and safety at work. Whittlebury Hall should rightly be proud of its achievement. Our congratulations.”

Michael Stott, Director of Whittlebury Hall and Spa Limited said “We look forward to celebrating this success at the Gala Dinner in London Friday 24th April 2015. The black-tie event will be hosted by well known broadcaster and journalist Louise Minchin and will include formal presentation of our award certificate.”
