Two sample bedrooms were completed in March, a standard bedroom and a suite, they had different carpets and various items, as visually seeing this helped select the most suitable items.
A select few regular guests also had the luxury of staying in these bedrooms for feedback. Mark Hills (General Manager) “we want our guests to find the bedrooms as practical and comfortable as possible. Rather than just choosing items that looked best, I wanted customers to experience the sample bedrooms first hand, after all these will be the people staying in the bedrooms and their feedback is crucial when making the final decisions’.
It is now June and the £850,000-bedroom refurbishment is underway. The staff are very excited, as the final bedroom refurbishment will be a mix of the two sample bedrooms, so they are even unsure of the final final bedroom finished look!
All 166 bedrooms are being refurbished with a select number of floors off at one time, as we have tried to manage this in the quieter Summer months ready for Autumn. This is all cosmetic work so the hotel is open business as usual. Our fabulous maintenance manager Peter Corcoran is heading up the refurbishment and I will do another blog when I next have an update. Hopefully this will be in a couple of weeks when we should have our first phase of bedrooms completed and some sneak peak images for me to show you.
It is still very early days in the refurbishment but we’ve had a very successful first week of refurb so far. Follow the excitement on our social media @RamadaCoventry #ramadacovrefurb or like our Facebook page Ramada Hotel & Suites Coventry to keep up to date.
